EQUINE CENTRES
Equine Centres are the homes for well loved horses and well as expensive bridle equipment.
The Risks
The Industry has suffered both theft of bridle equipment and loss of horses in addition to savage and meaningless attacks on horses. Such centres are often remote and are targets for both vandals and thieves.
With so much hay and inflammable wooden buildings, fire is a real risk with very serious consequences to livestock and assets. Whilst 40% of fires are caused intentionally, it is best to deter the arsonist with security systems. However, automatic fire alarms will detect fires, including accidentally caused fires when the yard is not occupied.
Customer Service
All systems are specified by experienced staff, provided with customer training on installation and offered with 12 months warranty. After the first year we will be pleased to offer a quotation for either a service or comprehensive maintenance contract to be agreed on a yearly basis.
In addition to maintaining our own installed systems, CAMS® will be pleased to attend most systems installed by others or provide quotations for annual service contracts.
SECURITY
Tack Rooms
Tack rooms can simply be protected with an intruder alarm which may either generate a loud noise to frighten off the offender or dial by telephone, either by landline or mobile, the yard manager or be monitored by the police through an alarm receiving centre manned 24 hr a day and 365 day a year.
Stables
Stables can also be protected with an intruder alarm which may be used to alert the yard manager or a guarding company as well as generate a high intensity light as a deterrent in preference to noise, if required.
Stables can also be protected with CCTV which may be linked to the alarm system so that when the alarm system activated the yard manager can dial into the CCTV system and view the yard through the cameras.
CCTV can also be used as a management tool during the periods of box rest for sick horses as well as the final stages of foaling. It means that the events can be watched from the comfort of the office or home without having to be in the stable all the time.
FIRE
Fire Extinguishers
CAMS will specify the type and the locations where Portable Fire Extinguishers should be fitted. CAMS supply and fit extinguishers, along with signs for their use and signs for occupants escape routes, to meet fire protection requirements.
Fire Extinguisher Training
We offer training in the use of fire extinguishers which may be held either at our premises in Stevenage or at your own premises.
Responsibility under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
It is now a duty of the responsible person under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, which came into force on 1st October 2006, to maintain fire fighting equipment by a competent person. Fire fighting equipment includes fire alarms and fire extinguishers.
CAMS® will be pleased to offer free advice and provide a quotation for CAMS® to test your fire detection and fire fighting equipment so as to meet your statutory requirement.
